Child Support Modification

There are many circumstances in which a person might seek legal assistance in child support modification. In many circumstances child support modification is a part of a modification of child custody or a parenting plan. In other circumstances, it comes about as a result of a termination in employment or even a loss or reduction of income. Conversely, child support can be increased when a parent finds out that another parent has taken a better job, received a bonus, or has been promoted within their company, which would require an increase in child support for the primary caretaker or primary residential parent. There are still other circumstances in which a parent can either request a decrease in child support or an increase in child support. There are even circumstances whereby an emergency decrease in child support can occur as a result of a termination of employment.

Unlike other lawyers, The Webb Law Firm recommends that those persons who either desire an increase or a decrease in child support related to these circumstances contact the Bureau for Child Support Enforcement in the county in which they live because the services offered by the Bureau for Child Support Enforcement or, what is commonly know as the Child Advocate Office, is free. However, because it is a state agency and because the services are free, it often takes much longer and there is little or no personal attention devoted to a particular case. The Webb Law Firm encourages those who need assistance offered by the Bureau for Child Support Enforcement or Child Advocate Office to discuss with that office first their needs.

If you are frustrated or receive little personal attention from the Bureau for Child Support Enforcement or Child Advocate Attorney, then The Webb Law Firm is here to help. There may be unique circumstances that the Bureau for Child Support Enforcement can be of little or no assistance, or your particular circumstances require the experience and knowledge of a twenty year veteran of child support modification and The Webb Law Firm is here to help.
